Gelbster Registered User Join Date: May 2014 Location: S.California Posts: 2,029	It will be interesting to learn what initiated the carnage.We can learn from the post-mortem even if it is just one of the classic "Modes of Failure" for the M96. What failed first? 1. Did the oil pump drive shaft fail ? upgraded part availble from LN 2. Did the chain ramps disintegrate ? known weakness 3. Weak chain tensioner(s) + over-rev ? age/abuse/low oil pressure 4. Stretched chain(s). known weakness on older M96 for which upgrades are available
