Most Honest Craigslist Ad Ever
If you haven't seen this, its well worth a read!
Sorry, I know its not Boxster related but many of us here on the Forum own other high performance cars or have seriously considered buying other high performance cars.
Here is the intro;
Okay. Full disclosure. I almost killed myself in it.
It is VERY powerful. Extremely, EXTREMELY fast.
I’ve driven Ferrari’s that don’t feel as crazy as this thing. I am frankly afraid of it now.
That’s right. It’s in my garage and I’m afraid to drive it because it’s like a crazy steroid bull that wants to kill me.
I’ve done 130 mph on a Ducati while laughing into the face of death. The viper is a completely different bowl of crack. The engine sounds like 40 pit bulls eating kittens while lifting weights.
I cannot truly explain it’s power. It has whiplash acceleration in 3rd gear at 50mph. That sentence doesn’t even make sense. But it’s true.
That’s why I’m telling you. I will not have your soul on my conscience.
You need to know what you are getting into. What insane level of crazy you are buying.

That's funny and true. A friend of mine has a Viper and it scares the hell out of me.

Funny but so true. My son in law over the last few years have owned a Boss 302 and. C7 Vette stingray and I've driven both of them several times and yes I'm afraid of them. Both cars would spin the wheels in 3rd gear on dry road. I can imagine what a viper would do to a novice driver like me.
The Boxster and their characteristics are just right for me.

I don't get cars that have that kind of excess horsepower. What's the point? See how many tires you can shred? A car needs to be balanced.

Yeah, I saw that ad in a Jalopnik.com post. Funny, and true.
Some people like the idea of driving on public roads in a full-on race car, which is what a Viper is. Not me, but I get it.
Three years ago, I checked out a 1st-gen Viper listed on CL for $22K. If it had been running on all 10 cylinders I might have bought it as a track day car.

I've heard the same things about the new hellcats. All that power is neat especially for the money. But if you can't lay it to the wheels, what's the point?
