The 986 certainly does not get enough credit for helping save Porsche.

The 718 is very pretty. I'm pretty anxious for it to be 2037 so I can buy one. Until then, my 986 will do.

Great article. If they make a 718 gt4 or 718 spyder or just whatever they have to call it to put a NA engine back in will make it a very very appealing car!

Good article and they got the facts all right...thankfully it was
not written by Yahoo writers. I have to say I like the 981 styling better than the 718 in many ways. The front end of the 718 makes it look like the bumper height was raised for crash standards or something...I could live with the back end but the front is let down.

Good story but one glaring error... "dry-sump oil-circulation system".

I think they referred to it that way as that was kind of the
way Porsche initially was marketing it (integrated dry sump or whatever they called it) when the water cooled cars debuted.

I agree with this. The 981 has a far better front fascia. The new 718 fascia looks more "executive" than sportscar. It looks stodgy, not youthful.

I have to say I like the more rounded shape of the 982s headlights compared to the 981.
I think of all boxsters the 981 is the least timeless, it's already starting to look out of date.

Yeah, that is exactly what Porsche said; but at this point everyone knows its not true, so I would expect a recent historical summary to have left that out.
Also, funny how there was no mention of the IMS issue or the lawsuit that Porsche lost on the same subject.
