coolant filter?? Is this true

I could have sworn in one of the many coolant/water pump threads someone wrote about a coolant filter. Never heard of this. Does the cooling system have some kind of filter I don't know about?

Never heard of one and I certainly did not replace one on my last coolant/water pump/thermostat service.

Sounds like something from the parts list that includes tail light fluid and muffler bearings.
