What's the longest you've been stuck on the interstate in weather??
Thought I was going to die. Serious. Just got off at some exit. 2WD and heavy trailer and no chains. 2 exits or more from Rock Springs and can't get up the uphill grades. Just fishtails. Not safe at all.

Scary stuff. Glad you're OK. I've spent a lot of time on interstates in terrible conditions in a rear wheel drive crown vic. Had I not been forced to be out there for work, there's no way I would have been out there. Glad you're OK and you made it.

I personally wasn't stuck but back in 2011, in Chicago, Lakeshore Drive was shutdown and cars were left on the roadway for almost a week due to a blizzard.

Good choice to just get off and wait. Hope you're not there for a week!

Glad you were safe, a trailer would complicate things.
I have never been stuck, the closest I got was a blizzard, where they started telling people to abandon their cars (Which never made sense to me, because you can't plow a road with abandoned cars on it). I got off and took surface streets. It took 3 times as long, but a 986 with snow tires is very good as long as there isn't more than 4" of snow, you drive a sensible speed, and rev-match perfectly. That was the only time I consider putting on my chains.

My worst in 56 years of driving was traveling .25 miles in 4 hours. Big snow, somewhat unexpected, all businesses let out at the same time and it took that long to get from my building to a major road outside the office park.

My worst time on the highway would have been back in April of '89 driving about 200 km back to Winnipeg from Wawanesa after a pistol match. Visibility was poor due to a heavy wet snow, there was about a foot of slush on the highway, and I was driving an '84 Parisienne with all-seasons. It took about 6 hours to make what was usually about a 2 hour trip. Saw lots of cars and big trucks in the ditch. I was very glad and lucky to make it home without incident.

Stuck for 4 hours on the I-15 south at 6pm.
Weather, clear and warm.
A dump truck had overturned and dumped rocks/boulders across 3 lanes plus the ditch and median.
If i'd been driving the Jeep Wrangler I'd have gone off road and try the ditch but I was in a Camaro that day so I had to wait it out

Dad was big into SASS. Going to try that myself.

Bullseye, ISU 5 gun - Free, air, rapid, standard and center fire. I did some PPC but never got serious about it.
