I Love my Hardtop

Was pretty sure I wanted to paint to match, but then I found this photo

I like it even without having seen the Speedster with the similar colors.

Mine doesn't match.

Not the best angle but I think it looks great.

I bought a Seal Gray hardtop for my red Boxster but didn't care for the contrasting look. After looking at the cost of painting it and how much I would use it I decided to sell it. It sold quickly.

Must be something about seal gray hard tops? I have one too, but will be trading it soon for a matching arena red hard top. The silver/green and black/yellow look good but I'm not a fan of mine or Chuck's combo.

Edit; The more I look at Chuck's, the more I like it. Not mine though.

You could always go hard topping Cayman style.

Takes a bit longer to replace though. Completely changes the look, perhaps indistinguishable from a Cayman from a few yards?

~$2700 Delivered. 986 version Z-top

Put the hard top on this weekend for a trip to Palm Springs. We were supposed to have lots of rain. Never rained. I do notice that it is definitely quieter and warmer with it on. The warmer certainly keeps the wife happier. Happy wife, happy life. And it really changes the look of the car.

The factory Hard top does not fit in the trunk right?

I thought I saw a reference somewhere to one that does fit in the trunk.

Anyone heard of this?

I just bought one, black on black. I have not tried but it seems way to big to fit in the trunk..

Definitely not a trunk item. Are you thinking of the Boxster Spyder, perhaps?

Xpit77, That's not true.

I can get two frozen pizzas in the back and a pair of tennis shoes in the front.

Of course, the pizzas will be thawed and partially cooked by the time I get home.

I would paint the top to match and add white Porsche decals like this
