Also be aware that some of the shift knobs (the optional ones with the carbon fiber and aluminum knobs) are held on to the shaft with a single Allen head bolt. I about popped a nut once trying to pull one off. A closer inspection revealed the bolt.

Also - take heed to what Porsche9 says about smacking yourself. Ask me how I know...
