What about these awesome diffusers instead of a new rear bumper (that isn't much different from the one you have)?

What do you want to do with the vents? Just want them painted?

We can get any of the Porsche aerokit parts for you if you want, as well.

Superus...dude, you have a big black circle around your side vent....you might want to buff that out.

LA Porsche dismantlers might be a good source for body panels:

The only bummer is that they are made of Fiberglass material (Precision Porsche Kits). They would be extremely prone to rock chips and cracking(especially the Front bumper). Urethane material is more resistant to cracking and rock chips.

Good point, especially for bumpers. That's why factory is often the way to go. There are a few aftermarket manufacturers doing urethane also, but very few.

I totally agree with Todd. Once you choose a front fiberglass bumper kit, im pretty sure you have to go back to the body paint shop a couple times in a year to get it refinished. Not worth the $$.

You can get the 03/04 vents from sunset porsche, they are about 125 each unpainted.

From what I find typically the bumper is about $650 unpainted (primed) - these diffusers are painted with factory paint, ready to go, and are actually functional diffusers, not cosmetic as with the '04 bumper.

Then, in addition, if you get a new bumper, you'll need a new wing, as they are not the same shape. It's not quite plug-and-play with a new OEM bumper, but the diffusers are.

And remember you have to get it painted and get a new spoiler as well if you do it this way.

list on a new bumper is $660. This means that Suncoast can likely supply it for less than $500 + shipping. it will be flexible polyurethane rather than brittle fiberglass. it will probably cost around $400 to paint.

as another option, you could check local yards for an '03+ bumper that's the right color (usually the rear bumpers are unscathed as most porsche recycler's won't even buy a boxster if it's hit in the rear)

also consider that a pair of pre-painted bolt on diffusers will likely not match quite right from a color perspective. i wouldn't put much stock in these diffusers being 'functional' versus 'cosmetic'; i highly doubt if they were FEA designed and wind tunnel tested. further, they're too small to really make much of a difference even if they were functional.

if you purchased a new bumper, you may be able to sell your old one to recoup some cash. really this boils down to money. in order of cost, here are the best way to go about this:

1. buy a bumper. take it + car to the paint shop so they can match and blend the finish.

2. buy diffusers. take them + car to paint shop so they can match and blend the finish.

3. buy painted diffusers.

4. buy track time.

DPS Parts has the bumper for 575 and the new style wing cover for 100. They charge 395 for factory paint. Google DPS Parts and you will see their site.
