I've never had to add a drop of oil between changes on either of mine.
Average 5,000-6,000 miles between changes.

Weekender: 1999, oil change annually, 98,000 miles
Daily Driver: 1999, oil change every 8 weeks, 154,000 miles

Garage
2003 S with 83,500 KM (~52,000 M). Change oil every 7,000 KM (~4,500 M). Never add oil between changes except when the IMS Guardian wasn't quite tight enough after an oil change and I lost ~1/4 litre before retightening. LN says 19 ft/lb, I now tighten to 22 ft/lb. Original IMS and no signs of metal or debris when oil filter is cut open and inspected.

The only 'oil' leak I have is some weeping from the brass shifter bushing on the 6 speed transmission. Not enough for concern but I will look at it when the clutch is done in the future.

I just had that fixed. Not too difficult. There's a few options.
