She's in for repairs...

I decided to throw the last of my extra cash at two repairs I needed done to my Boxster. The overflow coolant tank and the passenger's window regulator.

Apart from unseen things that might break or wear out sooner than later, this is the last of my repairs on my long-term to-do list.

It's been a long, expensive learning experience. I sure am glad I'm on this side of it! Now I can enjoy the car without being overly concerned about the car breaking down.

Hey Randal.....with your collant tank were you just filling it up every now and then? When mine went bad, it would hold fluid for about 2 days then would need to be refilled...what a messy PITA.

Mine lost about a cup a month or less. I think it's a real small leak or not leaking at all... could be something as simple as an old radiator cap that caused evaporation... which I am also replacing just for good measure.

I'll find out tonight or tomorrow if the tank had a leak or not, or if it was one of the hoses, a clamp, etc. Since it was a bunch of labor to inspect the tank for leaks, I decided just to go ahead and replace it and have the peace of mind that comes with a new tank.

While they're replacing the tank, be sure you have them replace the hoses that hooks everything up...otherwise if one of them goes, your gonna have that huge labor cost.....again, for just the hose(s)

Holy crap! My local stealership wanted $28.65 for a new radiator cap! Sunset came in at $10.98 plus s/h.

I continued to be baffled by how they rape their customers. They charge something like 35% OVER retail for this part.
