Take the door card off. On the back there are screws holding the 2 posts that the cover is hinged onto. You then have the cover loose in hand. Cover with whatever leather or vinyl you want. We had some black around so we used that as the cover was originally black. We also did the covers just above the inside door handle. Looks great!

Easy peasy fix

when I first got my Boxster I ordered some black leather off eBay and covered mine. There is a page somewhere showing how to do this...just contact cement

I read that you do not need to remove the door panel. You can remove the hinge pins between the cover and the door.
