I did read that the 991 was due for a facelift. Going with turbos on all new models may be good for fuel economy and even performance, but there's a bunch of NA guys out there like me that will pine for a NA motor in their sports car.

My gripe is that I will be in the market for a 991S (2013-2014 model) a few years from now and if they're all turbos going forward, the NA models may hold their value longer and I'm counting on some depreciation!!!!

That 2016 Boxster looks very sweet though. I just want a little more interior room and to achieve that childhood dream of owning a 911.

I doubt this very much. The typical second-hand buyer does not care if its NA or if there are six monkeys in there turning foot pedals. All they see if the brand and model. They probably care more about the color than the engine style.
But the bigger issue is that there are simply way to0 many 996, 997 and 991 in the market for sale. Their values really can't be sustained with a belt-tightening pool of second-hand buyers that have their pick of the litter. Not long from now anyone willing to roll the dice on an out-of-warranty fragile German luxury car requiring over-priced parts and specialized labor will be able to buy one for the same $20k that air-cooled cars used to go for in the early to mid 2000's. That's a tough sell unless you've been wanting one for a really long time.
