I use both on day to day - If vehicle is to be parked for extended period only in gear if it is not up on stands. On stand = in neutral

well on stands, the E-Brake and putting it in gear would be about as useful as 2 tits on a boarhog.

Only if it's not on a stand would I use wheel chokes and tiedowns.

...except when in France. Never use the brake or gear here.

I'm in Paris this week, and sitting at a café today, facing the street, watching as a 991 Carrera S pulls out of a parallel parking spot by pushing back the car behind it, then calmly driving off.
