986 headlight lenses

I have a 2001 Boxster S. Both of the internal headlight lenses are burned due to a previous owner running hot bulbs. I have the correct bulbs now but the burnt lenses are ugly. I have looked for used headlight assemblies. Many have burned lenses if they are not burned they are very expensive.

Can you buy new lenses and disassemble the headlights and replace the lenses? Has anyone done this? What were the results?

The lense to which you refer are only available used. Porsche does not list a number for that part. You may luck out and find some, but I gave up the hunt long ago.
You're in the same boat as I am. My car's PO did a number on the original headlights, so I just picked up a clean second-hand set from a forum member a couple of years back.
One day I will do a bixenon conversion on my original set.

It's not worth it at all to open these headlights and replace those poorly designed internal lenses. Instead, do this conversion, as soon as Pelican posts them for sale, which should be soon. Hopefully the price won't be TOO much more than what Fred was selling them for, although I have to admit I think his kit was quite a steal!
