Tiptronic question

Is it true that the tiptronic shift on the 986 in many case happen to be not working/functioning?
The normal automatic gear shift is working just fine.

How much does it cost to fix it? Thank you.

sounds like you are having a problem with the manual mode on the tip? Might need to describe the problem in more detail. Either way, I've never had a prob and haven't heard of any problems with manual mode vs. regular automatic mode.

When you push the gear shifter to the manual shift position, does the dash light show it's in manual mode?

The dash light show manual mode when push the gear shifter to the manual shift position.

Could it be something wrong with the mechanical part of the transmission. I am worried that the cost of fixing it would be expensive.

It could be a problem of the Tip ECU not sensing it is in "M."

Have you checked the fluid level? When was the last time you changed the filter and fluid?

Could be a solenoid valve.
