Anyone used the emergency hood release?

lurky - have you removed the wheel or are you trying to remove the liner with the wheel in place? And yes we know, to remove the wheel you have to get to the toolkit & jack in the front of the car which is locked.....
Because to get access the to the release cable, its very difficult without the wheel removed as the cable is usually tucked up behind the two black coolant pipes going to the front of the car.
The cable has to be pulled towards the rear of the car to release the bonnet (hood).

That is a tough spot to be in but someone here has been in this spot. Anyone?

When you do get it open do 2 things. Reroute the cable to the front tow hook spot AND put your tool kit with the wheel lock nut key on the floor behind the passenger seat for easy access.
