Now that's one hell of a body kit.

....and Could they be talking about the RMS?
If it's tranny fluid, what can leak severely on these transmissions? (Also: V6)

By the looks of the engine it must be one of those straight six models

With the ultra exclusive Porsche Siamese intake manifold / ports.

I like the part about the car is a 10 (for its age). Please explain the tarps for seat covers and the carpet dash pad (I'm sure that's to protect the pristine dash). Some people have a vivid imagination.

here's a good one from kijiji ...

1997 Porsche Boxster Convertible | used cars & trucks | Edmonton | Kijiji

expensive for a car without an interior, but he has almost $6k in aftermarket lights, and the timing belt was recently done ...

There has to be some catch of "gotcha" with this.

2003 PORSCHE BOXSTER S

Yeah, it's up there in miles, but less than $2.1K?

Overpriced?

https://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/5355970628.html

At $8k, you could almost buy this car with a clean title and not have to do any bodywork. At 60k mileage it could be a candidate for a clutch, IMS, RMS, water pump, AOS, plugs and coils too.

This place also has a similar 2002 Boxster with similar damage for $6k and a 987 Cayman with water damage for $15k.

If you could get it for 6500, that might just be manageable. It would really hinge on how badly the alignment is out of spec. Putting that on a frame rack, to pull it back into shape, could be costly.

I can't believe that these cars are totaled by insurance companies with that little damage! Makes me want to drive around in bubble wrap!

KBB.com gives a trade in value of a car like this with a clean title in the mid $8k-$9k range. The insurance companies know what it costs to fix these cars and what they are worth.

If the chassis wasn't bent, and the radiator, suspension, wheel and other mechanicals weren't damaged, I think it would have to be dirt cheap to make it worthwhile. Even fixed properly, what would someone else pay for the car with a salvage title? You would have to fix it just to keep and drive yourself. Even then, there are going to be unknown costs that come up so it should only sell for what a few major used parts, like engine and transmission, would go for.
