Thing was, the execution on the X was so much more efficient. The X had two usable trunks (sound familiar?), even with the top stowed in the front trunk. Spare tire behind passenger seat built into the firewall. Very cool! The biggest downside to the X's was corrosion and being under powered.

In all honesty, the first drives of the best sports cars I've every owned, an NA Miata and my Boxster S were that they reminded me of the 'go cart' feeling of the old X 1/9.

Never got that feeling with my first drive of the Fiero.
This could have been my story! I owned a 1978 X1/9 from '79 till '85 and never got that go kart feeling again till I bought my Boxster In 2014. And yes, corrosion and lack of power were its bugaboos, along with suspect electrical items.

Seller needs to have the airbag light fixed on a car that clean with such low mileage.

This came up in my Craigslist surfing by searching Porsche. I'd never heard of the Factory Five GTM. Seller should be using Bring A Trailer to sell this-

GTM Supercar

I've seen a few of them in the for sale section in the back of Grassroots Motorsports. Calling it a kit car isn't really fair, but...

In defense, I've seen some amazing "kit cars", Think of Charlie Beck and his Porsche Speedster, 550 and 904 replicas. I went to his shop in the late 80's and he lit my hair on fire from the passenger seat in one of his cars.

But the market for a Factory Five GTM is probably petty limited. More power to him if he can get what he's wanting from it.

I agree, the Beck Spyder, some of the Cobra and GT 40 replicas and other "kits" are pretty awesome, especially when a lot of care and thought goes into the selections made by the person building it. That's why I don't understand trying to sell on Craigslist, vs Bring A Trailer.

Rick, I don't think you have one of these yet. I'm pretty sure it's Orient Red. Sounds like it needs a little TLC, but that color is hard to find. Stop by on your way and I can give you a deal on an almost new top (plastic window).

Incomplete collection?
Etc...

It seems to me this is a bit optimistic for a 2000 base...

I bet ya didn't know that a 2008 911 has "remote sliding back doors" and "ample cup holders" and "can seat 8 with a middle-row seat"! HAHA!

Obviously it's a scam but check out how funny the ad is before it gets flagged!
