I would say that's a good price around here. The only one's I see cheaper have issues.

That is a hell of a price. I would snatch it up just to resell provided it doesn't have some hidden problems.

Probably repaired by a non-Porsche enthusiast who doesn't know the difference between an 03, 01, and 05 Boxster. Looking at that one pic of the front bumper, it appears the paint is cracking. Probably needed a bumper and headlights that were pulled from a 986.1. The tail lights are 986.2.
Did you notice the discrepancy with the VIN? Looks like they left a digit off in their verbiage. Not a smart idea.
Could this be a Wheeler Dealer tiptronic low on fluid? For that price, would be worth the chance.
Tom's probably high-tailing it out to Palm Dessert right now to grab that 2.7.

I’d bet it’s a theft recovery tossed back together with whatever could be found.

With that wing the Cayman should require wide load lead and follow cars when driven on the road.

What did you find on CL today?
Nothing. Craigs List is literally where you go to be robbed. Had some clown
advertising used toilets with my phone number for over a year. Complained to CL,
nothing done. Finally had to track the SOB down and "convince" him to pull the ad.

Price reduced 1999 boxter...
I'm thinking the price still needs to come down a bit.
Here's a current ad listed 24 days ago:
https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/d/porsche-boxter/6423081515.html
..and here's the same car listed again 22 hours ago. (Sorry for your loss...)
https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/d/porsche-boxter-convertible/6447822494.html
"...don't wanna sell it but it's a toy we have just sitting, someone hit and ran my wife and it's 1600 to fix eveything..."
I'm guessing that it's going to be a bit more than $1,600 after good a look underneath, ...rear subframe, suspension, etc.
