Finally took some decent pics of the "Beater".

We had a full 20 minutes of good weather today and some free time, so I ran up to Turner Falls and attempted to take some decent pics of the old girl with my SLR.
Was also a good excuse to do a quick little fun-run while the sun was out. This car seems to drive better and more quietly the more miles I put on it.

That looks nice. If you want to see a beater, I will post pics of my other car!

Green carpet even! My oh my! You should get that teal exterior color for a painted center console and roll bars!

It cleaned up really nice! You may need to get another now if you really want to call one a beater.
How are you liking the Tip'? With mine I thought I'd use the manual mode a lot, but I hardly ever do.

I have the Tip trans too. Pretty much only use it to launch off the line in 1st gear. The 1st to 2nd gearing isn't real good in my opinion, seem to drop the rpm's too low when going into 2nd gear.

Doesn't look like beater to me. That green interior is very unique. That must have been a big buck special order item.

Thanks guys,
I really wanted to show the green in the best light to see the reaction. I've had a total turnaround about it since I got it cleaned up and have lived with it a bit. Now I love it.
I believe it was listed as a $2,800 option.
I still really like the Tip. 2/3 of the time I leave it in auto. Makes life easier in heavy traffic. It has taken some getting used to because it doesn't shift like a conventional auto tranny.

I actually love the green interior. Green would look fantastic with a black car too!
My 986 is silver over black but I really wanted the red leather. Very hard to find..
Hope you enjoy "the beater" as much as I enjoy my 986!!

Beautiful day and scenery! Great looking car. That green interior kind of jumps out at ya - the windshield is even glowing green in the first pic from the front!

What a perfect car to drive everyday. Have fun!

Thanks very much guys!
I enjoy the hell out of it. I look forward to every trip even for work.
I'd love to see that color on black.
Hadn't noticed the windshield, you're right!
