Before you replace it, you can squirt it with tuner or contact cleaner\
Just squirt the cleaner into any hole you can find in the switch and down the shaft.
Then work the switch a bunch
Mine was acting up and it cleaned it and have had no issues since then
You still do need to pull it out first
