shipping it to england, getting it wrapped and shipping it back would cost more than a new paint job LOL

A question
If anyone knows, did they wrap the wheels ? and what about the Calipers ??
Or were these items just repainted ??
I am so so with the flat car wrap but I really like the wheels.

This is the wrap that I was wanting to emulate

They also make a green that is more of a lime color as well as several matte mettalic greens that look pretty cool. I already have the black rims and rocker decals on the car...just can't decide whether to pull the trigger and do it or not. I figured I can probably do it for about ~$300 myself.

wrapping the wheels would be just short of impossible as the film just does not stretch that much not to mention the heat generated in that area and the road grime, water, etc. would likely cause it to peel pretty quickly.

Flat surfaces can be wrapped...

It is easy to heat the vinyl and have it stretch to fit the rim but this stretches out the adhesive which weakens the adhesive. If they used a bunch of primer they might be okay for a while but usually within a few hours to days the memory effect of the vinyl will cause it to try and shrink back to it's original size and cause it to peel and lift in the concave areas especially. Wrapping something like those boxster rims in one piece would be more trouble than it is worth especially with plastidip being so easy...the lug areas would probably never hold well either as the recess is too deep.

I did some searching and came up with $2-4,000 to have a car professionally vinyl wrapped. Does this sound about right? Doesn't sound any cheaper than a paint job !

Back in my previous career the company I worked for sold large format printers (Mimaki Indigo etc) and I saw wraps just starting way back, I always thought if it could be done without printed text for $500 it would be the wave of the future for autos...however when you get into 4K territory that is a pretty good paint job. I would rather have the paint job.

I got my car covered with Vinyl Wrap from Gatorwraps | Vehicle & Car Wraps | Signs & Banners website. They have a lot of wraps, 3M Vinyl Wraps or Avery Denison Vinyl Wraps. You can request for a quote plus they have a lot of vinyl wraps with lots of colors to choose from. Professionals there will be able to address all your concerns plus you can request for a quote. They have branches and installers located in just about every large city.

They have partners in the US. They pointed me to a place when I inquired about having my calipers -yes, CALIPERS- wrapped in light reflective material.
Just shoot them an email.

I want to know more
If they made a material that would hold up for calipers I would buy it.....but I would need to see proof . Now a Caliper is something I would attempt to wrap myself......I used to build RC Aircraft and covered the wood frames so it could not be that different.
