I happened to already have the long t-handle allen wrench. It might be possible to install and tighten the shoulder bolts without it, but as I remember, the long wrench made it much easier. You don't want to drop a shoulder bolt! This post says the wrench needs to be at least 5" long.

Now once I get the spin locks in do I just drop the top in and it latches in the front and youre done?

Well, yes, it latches in the front. And of course as long as you are going to all the trouble to put in the spin locks, you may as well latch it back there too . You may also find the need to fine tune the fit, which is done at the 2 plates at the back under the plastic covers, where it latches. Do a search; there's a lot out there (Google it too).
