Hard top set up

Hey guys,
I just acquired a hard top for my non hard top '99.
Can someone help me out on exactly what I need to buy to install it?
Channel locks or whatever theyre called? Part numbers? Cheap place to buy?
Im not sure how to set it up so thinking on bringing it to Porsche to set up, any other suggestions?

Is this the kit I need?

Yes, that is all you need to install the top. You may also want the 3 plastic covers that go over the latches, if your hard top didn't come with them. Be sure to read up on how to install the spin locks and shoulder bolts (search here and on Google). They can be quite fiddly to install.

I love my hard top !

This is usually he one plastic cover that is missing. It covers the front roof top latch. The two on the side are usually still on the top. Good luck.

Thanks guys,
Do I need that long "T" shaped hex wrench tool or whatever it is, or can I just use an allen wrench or something?
Im not as concerned abt the interior trim pieces just concerned with getting the top on.
Thanks

I happened to already have the long t-handle allen wrench. It might be possible to install and tighten the shoulder bolts without it, but as I remember, the long wrench made it much easier. You don't want to drop a shoulder bolt! This post says the wrench needs to be at least 5" long.

Now once I get the spin locks in do I just drop the top in and it latches in the front and youre done?

Well, yes, it latches in the front. And of course as long as you are going to all the trouble to put in the spin locks, you may as well latch it back there too ;). You may also find the need to fine tune the fit, which is done at the 2 plates at the back under the plastic covers, where it latches. Do a search; there's a lot out there (Google it too).
