I tried the car key on mine a while back and the whole tumbler came out on the key.
The I put it back in and later was not able to unlock it with the key until I fiddled with it for quite a while.
Its junk and the proper solution would be to have the arm tray lock automatically when the security system is armed, just like the gas cap.
Sorry no suggestions but honestly your probably better off with it removed.
The other option is too buy the assembly and get the dealer or perhaps a locksmith to match it to your key.
Porsche Dismantler for that assembly would be an option if you want to save a few bucks. The classifieds in this forum have folks parting out their cars.
