Symptoms very much -- identical? -- to the ones my 02 manifested when what proved to be the passenger side door lock assembly was bad.

The tech hooked up the diagnostics computer and read the codes and did some other things to see if the problem was due to some other component as the door lock assembly is one of the most expensive items but it proved to be the door lock assembly.

Be sure the cabin floor under the seats, the passenger seat in particular, is dry and the doors do not have any dampness at the bottom areas.
