Brake Lights stay on constantly

I had some recent brake work done (power booster and flushing). It's as if I'm riding with my foot on the brake. The lights stay on constantly. Could there be something stuck in the computer? I squeezed under the dash with a flash light and observed the pedal to be clearing the switch when depressed. Looks normal to me. Maybe there is a pressure switch within the ABS unit doing this?

I want to try to figure this out before I have to drive 10 miles with my hazards on to get the guy to fix my brakes (again).

Sounds like the brake light switch needs to be replaced. If it's a VW/Audi part, then it would make sense that it's gone bad.

It appears it is the brake light switch alright. I can move the pedal and stick my finger up in there and turn off my brake lights. Now I gotta figure how to get the switch out. There's a/c ducting in the way. I'm glad I'm slim enough to fit underneth the dash.

Brake light switch replacement was the very first DIY repair I made to my 2002 Base. It was pretty simple. Just unplug the old and plug in the new. As I recall it was pretty cheap, too. $15-20 There is a "how to" tech bulletin at the Pelican Parts website.

Same experience here, one of the first DIY repairs, 2001 S. My hands are not that small and I did find it to be a bear to snap the switch into place.
It may just need cleaning. I ordered a new one from Pelican, before it arrived I used contact cleaner and got the old one working. Two years later it's still in the car with the new one in a box as backup.
