all dressed up and ready to go
Just got the 986 cleaned up, waxed and the sponsors decals for next months west Virginia to Colorado route 50 rally. Still have 5 or 6 slots open for any of you boxster owners that would rather drive them than look at them sitting in the garage.

[QUOTE=Joe B;402395]Car looks like a billboard. I sure wouldn't post pics
I am sure you would not. Always good to have a little information though before you ridicule something. According to a recent road and track article, this rally is one of the 3 best rally's in the US. The other 2 cost from five to seven thousand dollars to participate and make money for the organizers. As for this one, It is expected to raise over $50K for the accelerated cure project (MS research) this years charity and one of the little "stickers" on the car. The other "stickers" are the generous sponsors who donated time and money to make this event happen. So 80 of us will be taking our "billboards" about about 5K miles thru 15 states, doing 3 different race tracks along the way and enjoying every minute of it. And we are proud to show off the sponsors stickers along the way. And yours will be home in the nice clean garage while ours wind their way across the country looking like a billboard raising money for a worthwild charity. I guess you are the smart one.

I think your car looks great all decked out in race livery. And good for you for supporting such a worthwhile cause. Wish I was part of it.
Great quote from Gumball Rally: "Remember the first rule of Italian driving. [Pull the rearview mirror off and throw it over shoulder.] What's behind me is not important."

Not at all. Why, because you don't agree with me? I think it looks hideous . Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings; I wasn't trying to ridicule. I'm sure the rally will be a blast!

I appreciate the words of encouragement. It is an awesome event and a chance of a lifetime for those of us who are lucky enough to participate. The guys who plan this rally are great people. Imagine the daunting task of planning a 2K mile rally and coordinating restaurants, checkpoints, hotels, etc and finding sponsorship and logistics for 80 cars. My wife and I plan day trips for lots of car clubs here in the mountains and we know how much work goes into it. And these guys do it for charity. Last years charity was camp sunshine, a camp for terminally ill children. If you can't get a good feeling from helping support them you surely will when you give one of the kids a little ride in your Porsche around the camp. This is truly a win-win situation for everyone connected with it and the organizers are to be commended for the hugh effort they put forth to pull it off. The reception the rally gets from all the little towns along the route is just awesome. It makes you feel like you are part of something very nice, and all you are doing is having the time of your life. If you are a car guy or girl this event needs to be on your bucket list. It ain't the mille miglia, but for most of us it is as close as we will get.

Looks like one of those punk girls with the spotty tattoos all over their body. Your Porsche has been hanging out in the tattoo parlor too long. . Sounds like a great event and should be a blast!
