No high frequency audio from door speakers

I have a problem with my stock audio system, I have no high frequency sound coming from the front door speakers, only lows. If I fade or balance to either of the door speakers, audio is almost non-existent.

Does anyone know if the door speakers use separate signal feeds for highs and lows from either the head unit or the amp?

Well this is a bizarre "feature"... So all I really need to do is replace the 5.25 door "sub-woofers" with some full range?

Oh, and thanks for the info.

Wait, i'm confused. The door has a "woofer" in it, the dash has a mid and tweet. you should NOT get highs from the door. replacing the speakers with ones that have a tweeter is *probably* not the right answer. if you are not getting any high-frequency response, it's the dash speakers that are likely your issue...

No, the dash speakers work fine, (if you can call it that...), highs and mids are there. As I have been graciously humbled to learn that the door speakers are nothing more than "subs" that are clipped at around 70hz by the stock amp, even replacing them with a decent set of coaxial speakers will do no good unless I also change out the amp, which would also dictate a new HU as well...

I forgot who said it, but the money is better spent on a new exhaust and enjoy that music.

Correct - it is a slippery slope...all about priorities!
