Sweet. Years back my 2000 ranger blew smoke and idled rough. No pressure cyl 5. Mechanic offered to have it towed to salvage.

Broken valve spring. It's been years and 20,000+ since. Glad yours turned out well!

You need to perform a handover.. The ECU still thinks the car is broken as it was adding fuel trim and all sorts of things to try and mask the broken spring.

Jake will correct me if I am wrong but I think the ECU can learn after you drive around for a while (meaning several miles) or unplugging the battery for like 30 mins and plugging it back would have the ECU ready to learn again.
Isn't that the case fellow Boxster owners?
