Where should this power steering hose go?

As I continue to explore my Boxster, I found that the PS reservoir was a bit low in fluid. After buying $25 worth of fluid, I added a couple ounces and now it is up on the dipstick at least.

While doing I this, I noticed the following:

See the small hose coming from the top of the power steering reservoir? It looks like a vent line of some sort. I can't find where it might connect to. Is it supposed to be just up in the air like that? It ends above the level of the reservoir.

Thanks for any help. I guess I need to buy the Bentley book.

Garage
This hose go nowhere.
It acts as a breather and overflow.
On my previus car a changed it with a longer one, so it can get to the bottom of the engine.
