I decided to pull the trans as there was a oil leak at the rear of the motor....



Apparently the IMS was never replaced!!!

My Cayman just turned 20K mi today. Do I get 1/10 of a membership?

Will be putting some miles on her in June when I drive out to Porsche Parade.

Looks like you caught it in-time... Or maybe just a little late since there is some metal shavings on the end of the bearing assembly.

All of that metal has been circlulating through your bearings. Not good.

I think it goes all in the tube but at this point I don't think it matters much anymore with as many miles on the motor. I just drive it.

Wow, good catch. That bearings really loose and its a double row, which supposedly has a low (<1%) failure rate.
