Let me know what you figure out. I'm in Houston as well. I have a similar noise. Maybe a joint strike?

They couldn't find a thing. All looks good up there. So, don't worry, be happy, and leave the top down!

You will not find this issue with a visual inspection... Here is where the noise was coming from when I had the same problem (see attached picture), you will need to replace the the control arm links.
