It would be easier to get tuna fish salad by feeding mayonnaise to the tuna.

I dont think so. The high pressure has to come from all around to align the carbon molecules in cristal formation that create the diamond. High velocity impact may start to align molecules on the front but they will escape on the side (no pressure there) so cristal will probably not form.

Maybe in a high velocity carambolage!? ;-)
