			If its the separated axle its a DIY job, although if bolts sheared, getting them out is a pain.  No Porsche specialist required for that.
 Honestly in my opinion most everything can be done DIY if you have the right tools, patience and will read the manual and will always be cheaper than the dealer.

			the car will sit untill this weekend, only then will we know haha. When the water pump went out on the PO aperantly she kept driving and blew a head gasket. that was about 5k miles ago (they basically did that service then sold the car to get the money back out of the service as they had already bought an 07 box and the old 99 was just a weekender) The place where they had this major service at seems a little bit dodgey, i wish i could remember what this place is called, all i know is they service ferrari and porsche in charolette. But point is i am assuming the bolts to the cv were not tourque properly when replaced after the major service, causing them to likely sheer while pulling away from the red light. Will make sure to take pics of the damage and such this weekend    |

			Dealer will do it quick, not cheap but it will be done correctly and coming with warranty etc. Always good to have the opportunity to get a trained P mech under the car also... if you don't know any good indy in your area.
 DIY if you like to "fix" greasy stuff mounted with big bolts - I hate it!

Dodgy indeed. Was a leakdown and compression test done before it was sold? 
I hear blown head gaskets are nearly impossible with these cars.

 That's true. Good idea to have the cooling system pressure tested.

			yes, we actually were not told of the major service when we bought the car, we found it in the records the night after. We were simply told the water pump had went out already. But yes compression test was done, the place also filled the engine with 0W-40 going into summer in the south...... topped off the oil with a matching weight when we bought the can and plan to change to 10W-40 going into spring.

 thermostat
 Oil separator
 Oil filter kit cartridge (with o-ring)
 Exhaust gasket x2
 spark plug seal outer x6

 oil cooler seal x2

 guide rail screw x2
 Motor oil 0w-40 motor oil 1 liter X8.5
 
 sublets
 Send cylinder heads to machine shop for inspection or cracks or warping.

			Jake, you could crawl under the back of your car and see if there's any fluids leaking. Then twist on the half shafts and see if they're secure at each end. Use a flashlight and look for carnage around the rubber cv boot covers and suspension. We gotta' narrow this down and get you back on the road!My bet is a snapped cv joint but I can't explain the compressed air sounds...

			my bet with the air compresser sound was when putting the car in park. the tranny is trying to activate something back their, and if nothing is connected that would explain a strange sound when shifting into park. think i will go take a quick look, cars in an akward position so im limited though

			Still zero leaks.. Oil level still high... I can only get to the rear right and I can hardly see the cv... Everything is still holding firm though nothing lose here on the back right at least

took a beauty shot while cramed between my car and the back of the garage... buttt... i made it to the left side so here are comparison shots    
that was right side.... this is left side....
  
that is the inner mount of left side.... a little bit off eh....    #diagnosed!
 
now the question is, do i replace both?

			Drivers side to trans bolts came loose. I'd replace all those bolts.
