Wow, I'll bet it doesn't get much closer to a catastrophic engine failure given it looks like you've lost a few ball bearings.

The remains were found in the oil pan........
I just hope the missing steel balls just fell in the pan and didn't go through the oil pumps, but looking at the debris in the pan ???

This is the first car I have ever seen that is still running after so much grenade frag in the pan. They are usually all blowed up at this point.

I have to correct you here. No balls are lost. There are two "washers"(?) / protective rings, before the balls. The first ring has been shaved, that is where the metal particles came from. The second ring is inctact. (I can´t remove any balls, from within the bearing housing, if I try)
