Jacobean,
Is it better to pay $26,000 for a low mileage 2004 Boxster S or pay that same amount for a high mileage 1999 or maybe 2000 996?

I wound not pay 26 for a 986 , 22k tops . They are trying to get you cause it is an SE . in my opinion it is not that special and would still have to worry about the bearing.

I would stay away from the early 996 3.4 cars too. 2002 to 2004 are the ones to look for with the 3.6 , updated exterior and better quality interior . There are some good deals you just need to find them . All the same crap that happens to our boxsters still applies to the 996 . I started looking at 997's but they are still on the pricey side and seem to be more driven and less cared for . I am looking to pay 26 to 28 for a 996. That price range has some decent 2002 cars . I am looking at one this weekend with 50k on it, has the LN bearing and a new clutch .
