I thought I might let you see how the mods have worked out. An '02 2.7 Note clear third brake light, painted bumperettes, nude trunk lid, clear tailights and twin CChan exhaust pipes. Wheels have 15mm spacers front & rear. Hood has silver crest and clear '03 headlights and side markers. Also of note is the '03 side intake covers. Not much more to do at this point, any suggestions ( and NO Danger, painting it Yallar is not an option!!!)

Would you consider plasti-dipping the wheels black? Contrasting wheels might give the car a little more visual pop without going overboard on what is a super clean looking car.

Very clean Allen - looks great! And I would leave the wheels as they are.

Not overly fond of black wheels as I think they hide the shape of the rim/spokes so you end up with 4 black holes, at least in my opinion. I know that race cars favor black, perhaps the brake dust won't show as much? I do need to get them refurbished as they came with some rash and a slight bend in one rim that doesn't affect air retention. These wheels are the Boxster specific 17" jobs that are complex enough to be interesting. Ride is nice with them as long as the pavement isn't too seamy. Thanks for the comments to all so far.

nice and clean-not overdone. I love the wheels- they're muscular and Porsche! The only thing I would suggest is lowering it an inch. I've just decided I need '03-04 vents!

Have been considering the 1/2" drop from the MO3O ROW set but haven't wanted to spring for the bucks right now as my suspension is still sound.

Vents can be had from some of the parts dismantlers.

Ian, I just haven't had the intestinal fortitude or huevos to go at the yellow fence with a soldering iron. I may be able to talk someone with experience in doing it as I would like the totally amber free front.

AX, Yes those are stock Porsche '03/'04 taillights with silver bulbs that blink orange. Sidelights have same type of bulbs. I already have the silver bulbs for the front.

Thanks to all who commented.

Looks great, Allen....I'm a big fan of the monochrome look.

Those are also my favorite 986 wheels. I went 'retro' and put them on my '03 as well...I always thought they had a classic Fuchs look to them. The only other wheels I would consider are the 18" powdercoated Carreras, a la the '04 550.

They do harken back to the classic Fuchs look. Funny that the other wheels I was considering would be the Carrera 5 spoke lightweight 18" jobs. Those in chrome would be outstanding.

Your car looks like seal gray?

Yes, Seal Grey with grey interior. I changed the wheels and center caps (B&W), installed clear side markers, covered the airbag warning labels, and swapped the gold hood crest for a titanium one from WD.

The only 'color' (besides the red brake lights) are the yellow NJ plates, and hideous orange inspection sticker....not much I can do about those.

Where did you get your hood crest? I'm on my second one, but half of the black and red blocks have already fallen out after 3K miles...
