Just looking for some ideas where to begin upgrading my 1997 2.5 Boxster? Brakes, air filter, tunning etc. Any advice welcome

Could look into a replacement panel filter like a BMC or evoms cold air intake kit but probably most gins may be had from an ecu remap. I've tried a couple brands with the exhaust upgrade but both turned out to be excessively loud and droned to the point where no comfort or enjoyment could be had. Tried the gemballa and stepbrother systems and both sucked. JD to revert back to factory. Still trying to see what cn be done to increase the noise by just a tad whilst avoiding any droning. Was told it wasn't possible with the boxster by Autoart in vic
Don't know if getting the secondary cat bypass pipes alone will do the job perfectly. Just afraid to send anymore money on it to be disappointed yet again.
