Rob175 pleaseeeee point me in the direction of the $25 ones on eBay. I will buy them right now! If you can post a link on here that would be great. All I found were $100 used ones with the emblems faded. Please guide me my friend as that is one of the last things I have to do to "restore" my 986. Thanks in advance! Awaiting your reply anxiously..

I didn't put much time into follow-up, but this:
Gave me this as the second and third items:
I don't even need them but I'm ordering the 19.99 ones because I'm still mad at the tire shop guys for losing my Porsche crest valve stem caps (FREE Item). I will clear-coat them before I install.
...then this shows when I check out:

Hey guys, thanks for the links but I already searched on eBay and sent the deluxe-choice user a message asking if any of those caps would fit my 1999 original stock Twist alloy wheels and he said that they dont sell caps with crests that will fit a 1999, only the 2005 models onwards. Maybe he didnt understand the question well. Can anyone send me a direct link to the $20 caps with gold crests on eBay that will FIT into my cars wheels? Again, I have a 1999 base Boxster with the Silver metallic "twist" wheels...Im a second owner but those should be the stock wheels right? I took out the wheel cap and the part number is: 99336130310
They dont have to be original oem caps, just something that fits! I actually prefer the generic cheaper ones because they look like they have a bigger crest which I like!
Thanks in advance fellas..I really appreciate it!

IIRC, all the factory boxster wheels use the same wheel caps

Thanks for the links Thumper! The ones that ship from the US are sold out it says on the top, so I sent them a message as to when they will restock. If they dont reply soon I may just go ahead and order the Chinese ones. Are they both pretty much the same thing? And you are 100% sure that they will fit and match the color of my stock "twist" wheels from my 99 Boxster? I've attached a few photos so you can see exactly what kind of wheels I have and what the cap/crest situation actually is. Thanks for the info JayG, will keep that in mind. So all of them are the same size for the wheel caps?

Painting those lug nuts will add as much bling to those wheels as the caps......IF not more.

Thanks for the recommendation 911monty, but its already in my plans to paint or just replace all of them Im also going to sand and paint some portions of two of the wheels that have some curb rash. Was reading a nice article where some Bmw guy had an entire write up on how to do it. OFF TOPIC..but does anybody know the spray paint brand and color I could get to match these wheels? Thanks in advance guys. I need to get these wheels back into shape, and I think the wheel caps the lugnuts, and the sand and paint on the curb rash will really make the world of a difference! PS, any lug nut sets for these wheels that anyone can direct me to would be great..

The silver matches. They are pretty sturdy for plastic center caps. I was impressed with the quality for so little money.

I recently picked up the $20 eBay set - very impressed, looks like OE quality to me (except without the Porsche packaging, despite one of the pictures showing the Porsche box, which is a bit misleading).
They do have the "P" logo and part numbers on the back, also.
The concave dish sets in the 986 wheel a bit more recessed than the original style 986 center caps, but color matches and still very happy.
I did trim a small bit of plastic flash around the edges of the center caps, but it wouldn't surprise me if this is also on genuine Porsche caps. (I think I've spotted it on other Porsches before.)
The "free" valve stem caps that are also included with the $20 eBay set, however, are not even close to genuine Porsche. (Those are what you'd consider a "China special".)

Admittedly i was a center cap snob the last time one of these threads rolled around. However, I've changed my tune and I ordered the $19.99 eBay set w/ stem caps. I figure they'll look way better than the beat-to-crap OE caps I've got on now. I'll see if they'll possibly fit on the Design 90s on the 964.

New center caps
Thanks JayG. So this paint will match my original stock wheels 100%? I plan on sanding the curb rash areas down and then applying a filler followed by a few coats of the wheels matching paint. If you or anyone else can verify that this is the one, then I will go ahead and purchase it immediately. Thanks in advance guys.. Also, any advice on wheel restoration/touchup would be much appreciated. Thanks! I will def tell Tom that Jay sent me. Should I call them up when I order tomorrow? I just need 100% verification that this will match my wheels perfectly..

Wheel repair silver paint
I had a few paint chips on my '02 wheels so I pulled out the "Silber Spray" paint (Einszett 970330) that I had been told was the right one to use with Boxster wheels. I just shot the chipped area, not the whole wheel and was amazed that the area I sprayed blended right in. I could see a little evidence of the original scratch but couldn't see where I had sprayed.
So, if you sand the problem area correctly I think you'll have straight forward repair with Silber spray. Good luck. Tom
