I went to the Dark Side...well not really.
I know I have been quiet over here (probably most don't mind ) I have been working hard and doing car deals. The 987 sold to a nice guy down the road, he loves the car. I went to the dark side and got a 981 Base with PDK last week. I was going to sell the 986 but I think now that I own a 981 it might be hard to give up the rawness of the 986 'S'. I would miss driving like a mad man to the golf course listening to the singing of the Fabspeed...but we'll see, may not make sense to keep both. Maybe I list it and see if I get bites.
Here is a pic of the new one (the guy in the back ground is my 991 friend and you can tell he is amused by my picture taking):

Congrats on your 981. I thought you had got some kind of 911 or got a yellow color when you talked about going to the dark side..
Nice. I hope I have one of those in the future- a 981 that is.

Very, very nice!
What are you going to do without an IMSB to worry about?

Thanks everyone. A very different animal but still so Boxster. The thing about these new machines is by the time you get to that aaa Boxster feel you are already seriously speeding. I'm going to try to take my first trip to the mountains this long weekend, I could already talk all night about my impressions but at only 300 miles so far I'll hold off.
thstone - Ya I got over that IMS thing a long time ago when I replaced mine in the 986. I drove the 986 to the post office today, always a pleasure. Of course now that I have replaced anything that could breakdown and it is totally bullet proof if I decide to sell someone else will benefit.
Johnny - I really did look for a yellow one but nothing came close to the way I would have spec'd it:

I drove one of those this past summer at the Porsche Roadshow thingy at Sebring. Very different car from the 986/987 variants and still sooooo much fun to drive.

Nice car Whip, you gotta keep the 986 so you never have to put the top up on the 981.
I'm looking forward to driving a 981 @ the Festival of Speed this weekend at Fontana CA Speedway.

Congrats. Sweet looking ride.
Be careful in the mountains and watch out for the fog.

Thanks guys. Up to 420 miles won't be too long before I can drive it like heck.
The 981 Caymans are in, you probably can get a test drive from your dealer. I'm thinking of driving one this weekend.
Ya no fog where I'm going, well at least not that much traffic. That is a scary road, lots of traffic at highway speeds...and well you know most drivers are too close to each other and very hard for trucks to stop.

Don't be hate'in, the poor thing was sitting on the showroom floor never driven and was lonely! I wasn't in the market for silver and black (I likely gray and tan) but then I thought, it won't need as much cleaning and I plan to drive it much more now that I got a PDK.
It's interesting my Platinum Silver Metallic is quite different then my friends 991. His is a warmer color and my is more metallic and on the colder side. I actually like mine more. It's interesting the variation in colors over just a 10 month period.
