Paint later on or powder coating as the later is what I went with and love the performance in harsh conditions.

It's an experiment...if I like the matte black look, I may get them painted down the line. ;)

It hadn't occurred to me that you wanted to be able to remove it easily- kind of at odds with the usual treatment of wheels. Thanks.

I haven't clear coated the calipers yet(decals won't arrive until mon), but I thought I'd slap the wheel on and see how she looks...I think I like it ;)

I think it looks great!
I may try that plastic dip stuff this summer to how I like it.

Jbocio 03-09-2013 08:46 AM

Looks good. I had my wheels plasti dipped for over a year and it aged very nicely, with the occasional touch up.
It was tough to peel off for me after that year though, it didn't come off too smoothly. It was more time consuming than those Youtube videos had shown.

Getting there...wheels and calipers are done ;)

I think I'm going to need smoked tail lights now...

Glad you like it. ;)

Johnny Danger 03-15-2013 04:50 AM

Looks groovy !

Perfectlap 03-15-2013 09:10 AM

plasti dip the side intakes. Those PORSCHE stripes are a must.

particlewave 03-15-2013 10:06 AM

I'm getting there...had hoped to have it all done this week, but I'm a little over meticulous and took longer on the wheels and calipers than I had planned.

Decals and intakes may have to wait until next week. Good top down weather today and I don't want to spend it in the garage ;)

Truth^^^

Your wheels and calipers are looking totally sweet and I love the contrast with the car...but there is something about that green!

You can have so much fun with the intakes as they offer a wide range of things to do... These are mine: http://s19.postimage.org/xn08qa31v/Intake.jpg

Thanks! :)

Progress has come to a stand still for now. I figure that the decals and intakes will take up an afternoon, and the HID retrofit for my new clear headlights will take a day or two. Between work and classes, I hope to have it done by next week ;)

particlewave 03-18-2013 01:06 PM

Intake shrouds removed...

And five coats later...

Going to let these dry over night and start on the decals ;)

particlewave 03-18-2013 02:58 PM

Driver side done. Still need to trim around the door and wheel wells.

ccstud17 03-18-2013 04:21 PM

Hell yea! I like it, I have plasti dipped mine and love it. you can use any UV protector to make it age better... A tip for anyone doing it, wipe your overspray, dont let it dry, the edge of the rim will adhere better thus less touch ups
If you are going to smoke your tail lights DONT. Ill buy your non ambered lights and give you my stock ones!

particlewave 03-22-2013 01:34 PM

I'll do the projectors someday...

It definitely looks better, can't say I would have gone neon green on the brake calipers, but it does look better overall.

986_c6 03-23-2013 11:06 PM

I am diggin the latest iteration.

Agree with ccstud17, don't darken the tailights...has a very nice flow right now.
