Atlas MR-06 Lift - Good engine assess with Boxster?
Hi. Looking at this car lift for my 2000 (Atlas MR-06). Just wondering if anyone here uses this model lift and if so, how is the "balance" of the car on the lift and also how is the general access to engine/trans with it?
Thx!
Mark

I have an atlas 8,000 pound 4 post lift and couldn't be happier with it. Very stable and good access to everything on both the boxsters and carrera. Slightly over $2K from greg smith equipment. Best thing I have bought in a long time.

Paul - WOW, very nice!! Thanks for posting. The MR is shorter, so I'm assuming there is at least if not more room. Wonder if these ever go on sale at GS?

Mark - I'm actually thinking about the TR now too. Figure I'll have this for a long time, maybe my son will take it after that. In view, having one with with extra height is probably worth the extra dough. I agree $100's not a ton, but as you said better than that eye stick. Although we'd need a 3rd buyer to even get that. I'm not 100% "in" yet, but getting warmer for sure. Let me know if you find anything else out! I'm still hoping to find a used one....fat chance I'm sure.

For your typical garage that has rafters at 8' you can only raise the car so high before the roof hits.
Also the higher you lift the car the less stable it would be (High cg) and you would not want to be lifted high during an earthquake in California.
That altas looks like it has more lift than anyone would ever need to clear an engine etc.
Sounds like there is a group purchase in the works. I may be interested as well.
Thanks for the link.

For the difference in price, I highly recommend the TD. A MR will not lift the car high enough to use the lift table shown in my pictures. These lifts are EXTREMLEY stable. Also they can be used outside on any concrete surface. I have a nine foot garage and have room to spare at full lift.
