Thanks,

The first 986 models all had amber coloured indicator lenses, and they changed these to clear light clusters on the face lift model and a lot of owners bought the new clear lights to "de-ambered" them.
However they did have an internal amber cover inside the light cluster for the indicators that you could see if you caught the Boxster in a certain angel and light on it.

sorry about the Grandson, that's his preferred seat in the Boxster and it is the best photo where you can see the amber lens cover inside the light cluster on a 986 face lift to get rid of this someone called it "Amberectomy" I did an "How to" on our UK forum.

Link here if you are planning on doing it.

Your link didn't work for me I would be interested to see what the UK method is. Can you post it here?

Hi jaykay.
I just tried the link and it worked for me , but I'm not IT trained so it might just mean I'm UK based and it will only work for us, haven't got a clue why it wont work for you to be honest.
The best thing you can do is a search on this forum for "Amberectomy" or "de-ambered" this is where I think I had the details as my "How to" hasn't got as in depth detail as the original thread.
Good luck it is well worth doing if you have the Face lift model.

You have to sign up for Boxa.net, then the link will work.
