Nice work. I think that mod solves what is basically a design flaw in the 986. My nephew bought a Hyundai Elantra two weeks ago for $17,500 and he had a garage door opener integrated in the dash. You would think that Porsche would have included that on a car that sold for $50,000 (or more) when new.

I used this method that I saw on Renntech: http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutorials/article/153-yet-another-way-to-add-a-homelink-device/ You will need to register on Renntech to read the link.


This is similar to what you did, but used a Homelink transmitter from a GM vehicle. The nice thing feature of this mod is that you can control two devices from one switch fitted on the left side of the dash.
