I hope someone can tell me why someone would drill a hole in the door frame of a Boxster. See attached photo.

Possibly paintless dent repair. They usually put a little rubber plug when they drill a hole to access a dent.

The Rustproofing people drill holes that size into vehicles and put rubber plugs in as well (ironically enough they all rust where the holes were drilled first...) why would anyone do that to their car!!!

Why would you do that? The body is galvanized?

Passenger door? Odd, I have that identical hole in the exact same place on my driver side door frame. I always just assumed it was just a paint-less dent repair, but maybe there is something else going on...

Srad34 - Up in our neck of the woods, some folks seem to believe in taking their car to rustguard shops to get them rust protected due to the amount of salt the highway crews dump on our roads in the winter time. Not really sure either why anyone would want to drill holes in their car but then i'm not sure why anyone would drive a car like this in the winter either! Could be a PDR hole but I know you can get to this area via other methods to get the dent repair tools into... Probably best to put a few dabs of expoxy primer along the hole edge to cover all the exposed metal and pop a rubber plug in the hole.

The car was always in Texas before I bought it. Not likely to be rust proofing since one side only. If it was a dent repair it worked quite well, but there was no record of this type of repair.

The paintless dent repair if done right is actually quite good. I had a rear fender done a few years ago and the guy took the tail light out for access and you couldnt tell when he was done - pretty awsome. Not cheap mind you, but certainly a better option than giving up the original painjob :-) I had just not heard of them drilling holes... and why wouldnt they cover them or at least fill them... 'like lets fix a dent but make a hole' LMAO

If they were transporting illegal aliens in that hole they would have to have gotten them fresh from the cojones, and put them in with an eye dropper.

CarFax, etc are notorious for their lack of full and complete repair data.
