front bumper ?
I recently got a chance to check this front bumper out on a 986 . i was very impressed with the look of it. It was the real deal Techart one. Does anyone know if there is a decent glass replica one of these offered by any dealer ?

Hmm, it looks like the bumper shown on the car and the bumper on display are different? No dip for headlights, maybe it is for a 986? Might be worth an email tithe seller if you're really interested?

The bumper on eBay is for a 2002 (or 2001 Turbo) and up Carrera .

I also find this bumper a viable replacement especially if I was to add a center radiator ala the S model. I think it harkens back to the original concept vehicle I fell in love with at the NY auto show centuries ago. Keep us posted on your findings concerning availability etc.
Thanks,
AKL

That is a nice bumper. Wonder how it would look on a Boxster that had stock side skirts.

It looks like the knock-off from Vegas Aero is for the wide body version of the TechArt bumper in question. If you do some research, you'll discover that there's a difference in dimensions between the two .

It will be interesting to see. Also, be prepared to meet some challenges if and when the time comes to fit and install it . Ask me how I know ?

Definitely a good looking bumper if you can make if fit. Personally I am partial to the RUF bumper for obvious reasons. I also added a center radiator vent to the top of the bumper which I think helped with the aesthetics of my RUF bumper. Also the RUF bumper will be an OEM like fit, the others....
Either way you can't go wrong, look forward to seeing the finished product

Not trying to "take the wind out of your sails", but even under the best of circumstances most of these aftermarket aero parts require an awful lot of finessing and fine detail work in order to obtain an excellent fit and surface prep. With that said, a couple of reasons why you should consider the Ruf bumper is because it's made from polyurethane (PURIM) and the fit is spot on like the oem bumper. Wingnut2u can attest to that .

I got my Techart bumper today. This is the real one made out of poly , Purim molding process. So it should have very good fitment. the company i got it from claimed it was for the turbo style lights but i could clearly tell from the pictures it was the early style 996 , boxster lights. thanks to Johnny Danger for the lead . can't wait to have it painted and fitted .
