I looked at Boxxie sitting sadly in the garage.
Boohoo, when is this Winter ending? Still a lot of salt and sand (and rocks!) on the road. More snow coming the next couple of days. Getting seriously depressed.

+1 on that. Long term forecast says next day here above 45F will be in April. This day last year it was 80F.

Re: What did you do with/to your Boxster today?

-18 C (0F) this morning... it never seems to end...

Supposed to be spring now.

Most appreciated feature of my E65: heated steering wheel...

Made a 6' 12v cigarette lighter to a pair of clamps cable

Went and purchased an AutoCraft Gold AGM Battery, Group Size H6, 760 CCA at Advanced Auto.

Then used the new cable and battery to unlock the frunk

Changed the battery and all was good.

Until I drove it and decided that I hated the worn out P-Zero's

So off to Tire Rack's warehouse in Windsor, CT. Picked up a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL. While I was there picked up a set of Firestone Destination LE 2 for the Explorer DD

Contacted a Porsche specialist shop in Framingham to mount and balance the new rubber and told him I will drop the tire off today for him to install tomorrow. Well upon visiting his shop one thing led to another and now I am looking at doing the suspension.

So here we go, I simply wanted to start my car and break it out of hibernation and now it's going in the shop for new tires and suspension.

Now I am really confused...what suspension? which parts? He did assume and highly recommend Bilstien shocks as if there were no other choice at his shop. He read of a whole long list of parts and said $3600 parts and labor...

I need to see the list and make some decision...but he said he could get it in and have it done when I get back from a two week business trip. I am so tempted.

This is a stock 99 base with 17"s that has not been raced and will not be seeing track, but will be seeking on and off ramps without slowing down.

I need to get it right without breaking the bank.

Busy Day

Installed new tires on the rear wheels, installed new rotors and pads in the front, and installed new trailing arms.

Went for a great drive in the Osage Hills of Oklahoma. Got to spend some time on the Sooner States version of Cobble Stones. Then it was time for a little Petrol.

The car went over 70,000 miles today! Drove top down to the Good Guys auto show at Texas Motor Speedway! Someone even had a Boxster for sale there along with all of the muscle cars.

Removed front bumper and cleaned my radiators out. While I had the bumpers off, I painted my vent strikes black.

I spent most of the evening trying to figure out why my top would not come up. I pulled and checked fuses, I checked my ebrake switch, I even pulled the top toggle switch on the dash to see if wires got disconnected somehow.

I then looked up and saw my little red clip installed.... Boy did I feel dumb!

Well yesterday actually, took it out for its monthly spin. Warmed it up, charge the battery, roll the tires, "blow out the carbon". Today, big winter storm....again.

Well, maybe not today exactly . . .

Spent the weekend autocrossing, new course was cake this time, knocked 10 seconds off my time.

Unfortunately, so did everyone else.

Then listened to another woman (first timer) bragging that she finally got it near 1 minute, but the winning time for the day was 64 seconds. . . ? She thought 105 meant 1 minute, 5 seconds. Didn't have the heart to tell her . . .

Drove to Cinci Ohio - tested out new trip monitor

drove from SC to Cinci Ohio for a family gathering !. 1500 miles,
even thru the mountains, averaged 28.6mpg, but had one stretch(250 miles of 30 mpg) - averaged 70 mph( -usually set the cruise at 77.

bought a Foxwell trip monitor, from Maxspeed, - originally got it to use for checking codes and clearing the CEL, and to monitor the O2 sensors etc to see wha the heck is going on- found out if you leave it hooked up, it constantly records all engine data - reads out average speed, max speed, etc - pretty cool.

- drove thru LOTS of rain on the way back thru Kentucky , Tenn and NC

but the car performed flawlessly, - the new front tires were awesome in the rain!

The new hard top makes the trip much more quiet vs rag top - really a quiet ride at 75 with a hard top on - but 75 today here in SC so the hard top will be coming off soon!!!!
