				New Guardian Install

IMSGuardian, install went without any complications.
My only question is: how do you increase the volume on the alarm?

When I test the unit the alarm is not that noticeable. I turned on my radio at normal volume and tested the unit again, hence the concern, I don't think I'll hear the alarm in enough time.

 Any suggestions?

Move the black box around while testing the unit to find the best (loudest) place.
The angle of the unit affects the loudness.
I am hard of hearing so I couldn't hear mine at all, especially when I have a helmet on at the track, so I ended connecting one of the unused idiot lights in the dash to visually alert me if it ever goes off.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Our newest systems have an external 12v output to power your choice of external buzzer. We can't make the alarms too our, se someone will react too radically and crash their car..

Jake, where do I get the IMSG? Do you have any ballpark guesses as to how much it costs to do an IMS upgrade on a 02 Boxster S? I have a beauty and I want to keep her that way with as little worry as possible. Thanks for all the info. I have a lot to learn about these sweet cars.

Jake, thanks for the response. I just bought and installed your Guardian I wish I would have know about the Guardians weak alarm/buzzer so I could have waited for the newest version with external speaker capability.
How do I turn up the volume?

The keys left in the ignition buzzer and the buzzer that notifies me my lights have been left on are both louder than the Guardian alarm/buzzer.

Any solutions? I just spent $400 for a warning system that whispers a warning.
