New owner here

My new RS60 is safely on the transport and should arrive at my home in SoCal late next week. You're an educated crowd so I don't have to tell you much about the car - except that it has less than 8000 one-owner miles on the odo.

I'm unsure whether or not to keep the Boxster S graphics on the side of the car. Opinions?

Personally, I don't like it. Why would you need to reaffirm you're driving a Boxster (or even Porsche) by plastering the name all over the car? But that's just personal preference.

There was someone on another forum that showed pics of his car and many comments were made about how many times it said Porsche all over it. I think the dude replied back some number in the 20s or 30s. It was crazy. From tons of stickers to extra badges. It was just too much.

Woo-hoo! Awesome car. I'd keep the graphics (although I am a bit biased having the PORSCHE graphic down the sides of my car).

Yeah, lose the graphic and that would be one fine machine.

Dave,
Keep the car the way you want it, that is one hot looking car IMHO. Who cares what everyone else likes.

Looks fine as is and I'm sure it would look fine without.

Do you have any photos showing that red roof?

Porsches are one of the few cars that can pull off graphics without looking cheap. The graphics look great. Good enough for the original Carrera, good enough for a Boxster.

I'd keep the graphics. Although I'd also drive a sponsored race Boxster with all the sponsors stickers on it so...

Imagine that .....a sportier looking Porsche !!!!!

Thats why you bought it right?

It does come down to preference I suppose so do your hair dressers car YOUR way.

(Hair Dressers drive Scions Haaaaaaaaaa)

Opinions

You asked for opinions, and opinions you'll get. Ultimately the car is yours and you should do what you like. As for me, I'd lose the graphics and the amber side marker lights.

?

I think you're mistaking the 987 in the photo above. It's not the 981.

Welcome Dave, the car looks great & it will look great if you take the graphics off, so leave it alone until you know you don't want it on. ALSO when the transporter unloads that beauty don't sign for it until you have looked it over everywhere for damage especially underneath front, rear & sides, insides don't assume anything!

Red face

....failure to communicate.....on my part

"schnellman" commented on losing the amber side markers

.....after seeing the 981 at my local dealership I'm surprised the new 981 still does have amber side markers...was building on his comment

Can you imagine trying to make the "I'm sorry for speeding" plea with a full blown race version Porsche? That's why I always get a chuckle out of the speed demons in the Honda's dumb enough get custom plates with sayings akin to ledfoot...Yeah that will save the day when a 6' 5" pissed off deputy slides over to say hello..

Great looking car. Graphics like this on a Porsche are a classic look, and if you like them that is all that matters. If all Boxsters the same, it would be pretty boring
